A Little About Us...
Meet Owners Kevin and Mary Eufemia!
Kevin has been actively involved in the Florida horse industry for over 40 years!! He grew up in the Clearwater area, and started his show career right here at the Pinellas County Horseman Association shows! Progressing through the upper ranks in both hunters and jumpers, he closed out a successful junior career and phased into professional training in Miami. Adding to his wealth of equine knowledge, is the time he spent in the race horse industry! Mary was born and raised in Illinois, and grew up with a great love of horses. Her family rode and hunted together, and Mary had a very storied junior career in the Hunter and Equitation rings with her mare Maid of Honor. She started teaching and riding horses professionally when she moved to Florida. Shortly thereafter, she met Kevin, and as they say...they rest is history!
Mary and Kevin started Ravenwood Farm in 1980. With goals of breeding, producing, and showing top level hunters, a homebred horse named Heartstrings, who after being sold to Don Stewart was Green Conformation Champion of the country, effectively put them "on the map". Team Eufemia's ability to consistently seek out and develop top level horses has been a staple of their business. Credited for starting the likes of Case in Point, 20th Century, Enticement, Norma Jean, Yellow Brick Road, Rub the Gold, and Rub The Lamp, Ravenwood became a name synonymous with winning young stock.
As the years have gone by, the Eufemia's have expanded to showing and boarding clients horses, continuing a select breeding program, hosting clinics, producing home shows for boarding and lesson clients, and acquiring their "R" Judges Cards for the United States Equestrian Federation. Their commitment to the sport, and allowing people in the Tampa Bay area to experience it at the highest levels, is unparalleled. Horsemen to their core, Kevin and Mary are still frequently the first in the barn and the last to leave. When they are not travelling, they still personally do night check every evening!
With the advent of expansion, came the need for more riders and instructors at the RAVE! Professionals Shannon Dickinson, Lauren Wilkins, and Kasey Parker round out the instructional team and allow Ravenwood customers the opportunity to progress within the sport at a multitude of levels! Public Riding lessons are offered Tuesdays - Sundays, and teamRAVE competes at many different levels state and nation wide year round.
